1 Introductions, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest
1.1 The temporary Chair welcomed Members to the meeting.
1.2 Apologies were received from Dai Lloyd AM, as agreed on 23 May 2018, in accordance with Standing Order 17.22, Rhun ap Iorwerth was appointed temporary Chair for the duration of this meeting.
1.3 Apologies were also received from Jayne Bryant AM.
2 Suicide Prevention: Evidence session with representatives of Local Health Boards and Public Health Wales
2.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of Local Health Boards and Public Health Wales.
2.2 Nadine Morgan agreed to provide examples of best practice in relation to staff training. Rhiannon Jones, Will Beer and Nadine Morgan all agreed to provide data on the proportion of patients that are seen within five days in accordance with the 'Together for Mental Health' delivery plan for 2016-19.
3 Suicide Prevention: Evidence session with representatives of the emergency services
3.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of the emergency services.
4 Suicide Prevention: Evidence session with Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust
4.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.
5 Suicide Prevention: Evidence session with HM Prison and Probation Service
5.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of HM Prison and Probation Services.
5.2 Kenny Brown agreed to give further consideration to how many of the self-inflicted deaths among offenders in Wales had been identified as ‘at risk’ and were being managed under Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT) procedures and to write to the Committee.
6 Suicide Prevention: Evidence session with Network Rail
6.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of Network Rail.
6.2 Superintendent Mark Cleland agreed to provide examples of case studies where a multi-agency approach, including Network Rail, had been successful.
7 Motion under Standing Order 17.42 to resolve to exclude the public from the remainder of this meeting
